FIRST AID

YES! You can learn first aid with HANDS ON experience in JROTC! It is one of our most important core lessons that we annually review with our cadets and practice diligently with experience, readings, and simulation tests! It is a worldwide benefit to understand and learn the process for each first aid in case an unfortunate situation happens, luckily, our cadets will be ready!

SERVICE LEARNING

Service learning is similar to community service. Difference is that service learning is a project in order to help and LEARN without any other benefits! Every year, our cadets are the ones who VOTE on what service learning project they want to plan with the rest of the battalion (all classes, how fun right?). In doing so, they learn team work communication and planning to move forward with their learning experience.

LEADERSHIP

Another lesson we value all year long is leadership. We teach our cadets about leadership by upperclassmen who set the example, explain, and then allow them to try it. It is our focus as a program to train cadets to be exemplary leaders not for us, but for their future so they can tackle any obstacle they may face!

PERSONAL GROWTH & BEHAVIOR

As a cadet, a leader, and a good citizen, you also have to work within yourself. One of the first lessons is an assessment that will allow cadets to think about their interpersonal functions and be aware of what they can improve on. With our instructors' guidance, each cadet is willing to grow and expand their learning experience.

CITIZENSHIP

JROTC’s mission, "To Motivate Young People to Better Citizens," is the guide post for the program's success. In this course you learn the ways of the US Government, basic economics, wise decision-making, and the importance of knowing your rights and duties as a citizen and being.

DECISION MAKING

JROTC approaches a seven-step model to teach decision marking.

1. identify the problem

2. gather information

3. develop a course of action

4. analyze and compare courses of action

5. select a course of action

6. make decision

7. make plan and implement plan

We teach the details for each step to our cadets. This technique helps them make wise decisions for any situation in the future.

HEALTH & FITNESS

In JROTC we teach health and fitness to our cadets, and they get to test their fitness while improving through our cadet challenge!

TEAM BUILDING

Through our various projects and lessons in JROTC, we require cadets to work together and share their input about a topic assigned.

GEOGRAPHY

Geography too?! Didn't expect it, right? But yes! Geography is very important because one of our lessons is diversity and the importance to understand those around the world as much as ourselves. In this lesson, cadets get to explore and learn the religions, culture, and languages of other countries!

CAREER READINESS

As cadets approach their years in JROTC, we recognize that research on a career and place of education is valuable and crucial to know. This is why we give our cadets guidance and knowledge for careers they are interested in by giving them a project that they can have time to make their own research and further help them understand additional requirements in their field of interest.
